Good news if you have a smaller job for me: with immediate effect, I am introducing a first 30 minute charge of just £20, to replace the minimum one hour fee. That means asking me to do a smaller job of around half an hour or less will now make much more sense!
Small jobs are now more affordable
In around half an hour I can, typically, assemble some chairs or small tables, build a basic Pax wardrobe frame or re-hang your wardrobe doors, for example.
Hourly rates change after 5 years
My basic rate is £40 per whole hour (£50 evenings and Saturdays, £60 Sundays).
Each additional 30 minutes costs £20, £25 (Saturday and evening), or £30 (Sunday).
The half-day rate is £135 and day rate is £250.
As a guide, most smaller or simple items (eg, a standard bed, two bedside cabinets, a large bookcase, a chest of drawers or a basic wardrobe) can be assembled within 1 hour.
A small shed could take perhaps 3-4 hours, a larger one around 4-5 hours.
I won’t worry or give you a bigger bill if we’re a few minutes over!
Once I’ve quoted a price I like to stick to it unless there is significantly more work than I was made aware of – for example, an extra wardrobe to assemble (it has happened!).
