IKEA Brusali Wardrobe: Sturdy and Heavy!

brusali-wardrobe-with-doors-white__0179551_PE331789_S4Yesterday, I built this three-door  Brusali wardrobe for a customer in St Helier. Although she was quite capable of building the matching drawer units and other items, the wardrobe is very heavy and difficult to handle.

Each of the three boxes it comes in is heavy enough to need two people if you’re carrying it any distance – or up stairs, for example. Luckily for me, I didn’t have to move it too far, and total time to build it was almost exactly the two hours I quoted.

The end result is both sturdy and stylish. Shelves and rails are easily adjustable (using pre-drilled holes) and the doors aren’t too tricky to hang (although not as simple as some other IKEA wardrobes with their clip-together hinge system). It takes a a few minutes adjusting the doors to make sure they don’t rub against each other or the frame and to align them with each other.

The end result looks like this:
